Constructor Named a Strong Performer in The Forrester Wave™ for Commerce Search And Product Discovery, Q3 2023

Since entering the market in 2019, Constructor believed ecommerce retailers deserved a product search and discovery platform built for their unique needs. Where other solutions start with open-source, keyword-matching engines and bolt AI on top, we are the only product discovery solution with a proprietary Native Commerce Core™ that optimizes for ecommerce-specific KPIs like revenue and conversions.

We are thrilled to share that Constructor has been named a Strong Performer in The Forrester Wave™: Commerce Search And Product Discovery, Q3 2023. This position reflects for us our superior strategy and the results we’ve repeatedly proven for customers.

The report evaluates the most significant commerce search and product discovery providers in the market, scoring them across 26 criteria after rigorous research and analysis.

Described in the report as an “innovative disruptor” with “outcome-driven functionality,” Constructor was top ranked in the The Wave’s Strategy category, achieving the highest score possible in the Vision, Innovation, and Roadmap criteria. This was out of 10 vendors evaluated. We believe this reflects our position as trailblazers in the market, building the future of product discovery for retailers.

The Forrester report states:

The commerce search market has changed dramatically over the past decade. Historically, many digital businesses relied on their commerce solutions to provide search functionality, which was often built on underlying frameworks from Solr or Elasticsearch. In recent years, that built-in functionality went from ‘good enough’ to 'not enough' as independent solutions spun up and accelerated their evolution.

We’ve held similar beliefs since our inception, and they are part of the reason why Constructor’s proprietary core was built specifically to solve ecommerce problems. Many of today’s search products continue to use Solr or Elasticsearch at their core, providing general-purpose engines that solve problems for a wide number of industries. The lack of focus ultimately drives sub-par outcomes when it comes to online retail. In contrast, Constructor leverages advanced algorithms, transformers, and large language models to deliver real-time, personalized experiences that rank results on attractiveness rather than relevance.

Additionally, we are extremely proud to have earned the highest score possible in the Adoption criterion, which we believe highlights our ability to achieve no-nonsense, tangible outcomes for our customers. (We’ve never lost an A/B test and can prove it).

The report states that our reference customers “feel they had an impact on innovation and appreciate [Constructor’s] proactive approach.” It also states that customers “feel well supported and overwhelmingly expect to remain with [us] in the long term.” We can think of no better compliment than to have earned their continued partnership.

Finally, with the highest scores possible in the usability and tooling, manual search and merch configuration, guided search and quizzes, and type-ahead criteria, we believe the Wave recognizes the investments we’ve made in providing best-in-class UX for business users in our current offering. You won’t need to bury yourself in a mountain of documentation to learn and adopt our intuitive, merchandiser-friendly interfaces.
